How I Position My Hook In These CHL Grubs!

I've had many request from whipping "spin casting" shore anglers on how i position the hook on my CHL "Completely Hooked Lures" Herring style plastic grubs. I prefer the hook penetrating 1/4-1/3 inches behind the nose so the barb runs between the eyes. Hook entering on top the head, running in-between he eyes & exciting at the bottom.

In other words the thickest part of the head. This creates more undulation of the lure. Mounting the hook further back will straighten the reaction. I shared my observation with the owner of CHL Lures Landon Yamamoto. He concurred that this style of hooking the grubs enticed bites for him as well.
