Fishy I am sure your numbers are accurate but you left off a couple of important items. Taxes; 10% room tax, 10% service charge, 10% tax on the boat. Also the tips for the boat crew I think hokeysmoke included those both ways in his calculations. Also those are the rates on the Palmas website. I sure am suprised to see this I always thought East Cape was a bargain.
Got the rates right off the Palmas web site...and because he wants to fly non stop is a whole different deal...I'm just stating the price I can do what he is doing and if I stayed at a different hotel it would even be cheaper than Palmas.... I can get a flight from San Diego round trip for $500 per person if he choses to pay $750 then that's on him if he chooses not to get the package rate at Palmas that's also on him...I know that if I shopped the trip it will be much less than the $4,000 I stated....he will also not be fishing 5 days on a 5 day LR trip more like 3 or 3.5. I've been going to the East Cape every year since l974 and let me tell you LR fishing is WAY more expensive...JMO When you go long range fishing it sure costs me more than just the step on fare plus tip....so adding the nickles and dimes to the East Cape trip is not being equal....and besides they are two totally different experiences.

I need the miles for my wife and I to go to Hawaii. So I will use my non-stop, code share, FF miles airfare cost is $5,233.50 If I do use your airfare the cost is within a few dollars East Cape to LR. But there are still some uncertain costs like what will it cost me extra to take my rods and reels dow and bring back some fillets? That could cost another $200. Sometimes those rates quoted on the website are not availiable as I found when I got this price quote. It doesn't matter for me and my son to go to East Cape costs more than Long Range during this week in July with the boats and rooms that are availiable.
