I have a chance to tag along with a friend on a trip to the island for some WSB fishing. The only problem is he and his buddy will be diving and they arent going to want to make squid the night be4 etc...Im not in a position to pay for a scoop of squid. What would be my best options fishing WSB on artificial lures? The many different types of new artificial squid lures look good, or should I just use frozen? Appreciate the help, just getting over there and doing it is 90% the fun, but I want to atleast attempt to catch something.

I personally would go with the Frozen whole squid on led heads,or dropper loop, or a white or squid color jig with frozen whole squid attached....good luck.

I would agree that the frozen would be your best bet but....
While I was fishing live squid last weekend my buddy caught a WSB that was just short by trowing swimbaits into the kelp!
Bring both....and Good Luck!

Pin some fresh dead squid on a large white jig and bounce it 2-3 cranks off the bottom. You can get fresh dead squid at the Asian markets.
Good Luck
